The story of the Lane
Every room
has a legend
The names on the doors come from Sligo itself: the river, the queen on Knocknarea, the man who built the town and the woman who ran away from a king.
The GaravogueA river of ale & whiskey
In the 1800s, Sligo brewed and distilled along the Garavogue. We kept the name, and the barrel room.
Maeve'sA queen who never backed down
Queen Maeve of Connacht faced her enemies head on. Tradition says she still keeps watch from her cairn on Knocknarea.
Maurice Fitz'sThe man who built Sligo
Maurice Fitzgerald built Sligo's first castle in 1245 and founded the Abbey a few years later.
Gráinne'sShe ran with Diarmuid
Gráinne fled her wedding to Fionn with Diarmuid. Their cave still sits high in the Gleniff Horseshoe.
